About Nicole Egan, LMFT
Specializing in helping women heal from trauma through EMDR. In person in San Jose and virtually throughout California.
If you’ve ever wondered why it’s so hard to let go—you’re not alone. Your body remembers what your mind tries to forget.
But healing is possible.
Many of the women I work with feel…
Like they’re too much — and yet never quite enough.
On edge, even when nothing seems wrong.
Stuck in old patterns they can’t seem to break.
Tired of replaying the past and wishing they could move on.
I work with women who want to feel truly seen and understood — especially when talk therapy hasn’t been enough.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, you’re in the right place.
You’ve done the talking, now let’s do the healing.
How I’ll work with you
I don’t do this work just because I’m trained to—I do it because I deeply understand the weight trauma can carry. If you’ve tried talk therapy or self-help tools and still feel stuck, that doesn’t mean you’re broken—it often means your system needs a different approach.
Using trauma-informed EMDR, I help you gently release old patterns held beneath the surface, working with both mind and body at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system. I’ll meet you exactly where you are and walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner wisdom and begin to feel more grounded, calm, and free.
If you’re ready to move beyond survival mode, EMDR therapy can help you loosen the grip of old patterns and begin to feel change—not just intellectually, but in your body and your day-to-day life.
Therapy with me is
-
Clients often describe me as easy to connect with—someone they can trust with the heaviest experiences they’ve carried. They feel seen, supported, and held with care, even when we’re working through difficult memories. Creating safety is always the foundation of our work together.
-
I take my time getting to know you and make sure therapy moves at a pace that feels right for your nervous system—never rushed, never forced. We listen to your body just as much as your thoughts, so healing can happen in a way that feels steady and sustainable.
-
Many clients describe EMDR as life-changing, sharing things like “I finally feel free from something I didn’t even realize was running my life,” or “I’ve never felt this calm in my body.” This work goes beyond coping—it supports deep, embodied healing so you can live with more lightness, self-trust, and freedom.
This is more than therapy—it’s a return to wholeness, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Guiding Principles
Instead of beating yourself up for how you feel or act, we’ll slow down and explore why those reactions make sense—especially if you've been through hard things.
Your feelings make sense
We get curious instead of critical
Anxiety, overwhelm, or shutting down aren’t signs something is wrong with you—they’re signs your body has been trying to protect you.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re “too much” or “not enough,” those are messages you learned somewhere. We’ll gently start to unlearn them together.
Unlearning what you were taught to believe
You’re not broken—you’re coming back to yourself
The goal isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to help you reconnect with the version of yourself that feels calm, confident, and free.
The goal of trauma therapy isn’t to erase the past or always feel “positive.” It’s to help you develop a more balanced perspective—where your nervous system feels steadier, your inner critic quiets down, and you can respond to life with more clarity and choice, not just survival.
Healing happens in safe relationships
Healing brings balance not perfection
If you’ve been hurt in relationships, healing happens through safe ones too. Therapy is a place where you don’t have to perform or pretend—you just get to be you.
